Macbook Pro 2018 For 3d Rendering Modeling
Hey all! New to the forum, so sorry for the noob question, but I've begun doing some research on a new laptop, and the Macbook Pro is one of the notebooks I'm considering. I'm currently a PC user, but am seriously considering the new 15' 2009 MBP.
My question is, has anyone had any experience using 3D modeling software with the MBP? How does it run? Is it laggy at all? How about for rendering software? The current software I use is:
Alias StudioTools 2009
Rhino 4.0
Alias Showcase 2009
Maya
StrataPro
Vray
Bunkspeed Hypershot[/B]
I know, for starters, most of these programs are currently Windows-only, and that I'll have to bootcamp in Windows mode, but as this is purely a hardware question, I am not concerned so much with OS issues. Does anyone have experience using these programs on a MBP? How do they run? Problems/Issues/Criticisms? Thanks for all your input!

Yes, you may use the Mac book Pro 2018 13 In. For your mention purpose, but I personally wouldn’t recommend it. Here is an explanation for the same: The Config. Of Macbook Pro 2018 the price for which is $1299 2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Inte. Upcoming 15' or 17' Macbook Pro revisions Upcoming Mac Pro revision Use: SketchUp (with Plugins Vray & Podium), Modo (learning), Adobe CS4, Autocad & 3D Max (PC) I hate Boot Camp because I need to have access to OSX so I use VMware Fusion. I would prefer, if possible, to have a computer that could render quickly in a virtual machine (3d max).
If your computer needs to be mobile, then your only choice is a MacBook/ MacBook Pro.
With MacBook Pro, get to top of the line 15' inch screen, get the optional top of line i7 CPU.
This model has both an integrated Iris Pro graphics chip AND 2GB discreet AMD GPU.
This will be fine for all of your 2D work and will prove sufficient for any of your 3D application tasks.
The only, possible, limitations maybe the GPU and a limit of only 16 GBs of RAM.
Online apple simulator. For around the same price ranges, Macbook pro storage space.
If you need the maximum computing power available, but trade off portability, you really need the top of the line, 27 inch screen iMac with the fastest optional i7 CPU, optional faster 4 GB discreet GPU chip and to get the most speed, opt for the 512 GB SSD flash drive or, if you can afford the extra costs, get the 1 TB SSD flash drive instead of one of the Fusion drive options.
For RAM. third party RAM is cheaper to purchase and install yourself, so order this top of line 27 inch screen iMac with only the base 8 GBs of RAM and order RAM extra, additional RAM from these third party Mac RAM suppliers below.
The 27 inch iMacs are the ONLY iMac models that still have user upgradeable RAM.
The 27 inch iMac can take up 32 GBs of RAM, not just up to 16 GBs of RAM in the Mac Minis, MacBooks/Pros and the very limiting 21 inch screen iMac models.

Good Luck!
